Ethical Audio is a suite of intelligent audio services — analysis, mixing, and mastering (arriving next) — built for people who want a second, trustworthy set of ears on their work, not a machine making decisions for them.
Where the engine comes from
The reasoning behind Ethical Audio isn't a recent experiment. It's built on over a decade of work on custom answer-set-programming reasoning engines — the same kind of explicit, rule-based logic that powers the analysis, mixing, and (soon) mastering you see today. That's why every result comes with a reason attached: the system was designed from the ground up to explain itself, not bolted on after the fact.
Why not machine learning
We get asked this often, so we'll say it plainly here too: Ethical Audio does not train models on audio, yours or anyone else's. The reasoning is explicit — grounded in measurable audio characteristics and established engineering principles, not learned patterns from a training set. See our Philosophy page for the full reasoning behind that choice.
Who it's for
Engineers, producers, and artists who want to understand their sound before committing to a decision — whether that's a mix, a master, or just a sanity check before a release. Ethical Audio scales from a first-timer double-checking loudness to a working engineer comparing candidate mixes against a reference.
